Article 12 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child states that “every child has the right to express their views, feeling and wishes in all matters affecting them, and have their views considered and taken seriously”.  

In this context the college provides authentic opportunities for learners to realise and share their aspirations, interests and ideas along with the ability to influence decisions and outcomes. 

Our programs aim to develop socially aware individuals driven by a willingness to participate, work in a team and contribute to the college and broader community. The college offers a range of opportunities for learner voice to influence the college, including: 

Learner Empowerment Team (LET) 

Learners from Years 7, 8 and 9 are a conduit between the learners and staff across the college. Members of LET are empowered to assist in decision making, developing learner priorities, build relationships with external organisations, individuals and lead learner focussed projects, activities and events. 

Ambassadors: 

Learners are selected from across the college to provide leadership in a range of areas. Ambassadors meet to discuss, plan and work closely with staff to strengthen learning and participation opportunities across the college. Current themes include:

Your Say: 

Your Say is an online consultation mechanism where learners have an opportunity to have their say and influence decisions. 

Governing Council: 

The college’s Governing Council membership includes two learner representatives. These learners provide a broad range of perspectives at Governing Council assisting the college to make decisions in the best interests of the college’s most important stakeholders, our learners.
