The college aims to provide learners with technologies that enable them to access learning in a variety of different ways and for a range of different purposes both at home and at the college.
The college’s standard device roll-out schedule is outlined below. The college does not support a ‘bring your own device’ option. Depending on the point at which a learner enters the college different arrangements may need to be put in place.
Preschool – Year 2
Shared iPads which remain at the college. These devices are owned by the college.
Years 3 – 6
1:1 iPads which remain at the college. These devices are owned by the college.
Years 7 – 12
At the end of 2024 we will conclude our 1:1 iPad agreements and use of 1:1 iPads in our secondary years. Parents have been given the option to keep the iPads for home use (and pay off the balance) or return them (with the remaining invoiced amount cleared).
In 2025, we are moving to a managed 1-to-1 laptop program for Year 7-11 learners. We will maintain a limited number of shared iPads for use by secondary learners as needed, with the access to various devices providing our learners the opportunity to develop skills and strengths across multiple platforms.
The program will follow a shared-cost model, with parents covering the device, warranty, and insurance, while the college will fund software, tech support, and internet access. The college maintains a no BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) policy, ensuring that all learners have access to the same high-quality tools, managed infrastructure, and consistent software, which aligns with our educational values. More details, including a handbook, will be shared here soon.
